A bit of a busman holiday ,but what a cracking "day off".......I was up before the alarm went off at 4 am,and had the car packed before Andy Allsop arrived shortly after along with Danny who skippers the Lady Helen.Giving the skipper a lift makes sure you get a crackin cuppa tea

.we arrived in Milford Marina around 6.30,fuelled up and set off in to a calm sea ....After a quick steam we loaded up on mackerel at the Smalls ,then headed west out in to the shipping lanes and beyond for and hour and a half .....the sea was calm and hopes for a great day were high .10 mins and the chum bags were in ,the rods set a we settled down in anticipation.We didnt have to wait long ,the first ratchet scream came within 20 mins ....and the manic day began,17 Blues boated smallest 65lb with the average around the 85lb,i was luck to bag the biggest of the day @103lb.
A fabulous days fishing ,you really can see why Andy has a reputation for Sharks,the action was manic all day....got back home at midnight,knackered and very happy.
