aberthaw 30th May

Cracking days fishing ay Aberthaw today. Armed with Mackerel, squid, soft crab and tiger prawns, locked out at 8.30 taking the last hour of the ebb down west. Anchored in various places and soon got into the inevitable dogs. First to break the boredom was this Starry hound of 7lb

Then the current started to race a little fast for comfort, so headed inshore for some shelter. First to find a way through the dogs was this tasty Huss of 8lb.

Closely followed by the best of the day..this 10lb Starry Hound

Also missed two crackers due to my own stupidity really. Both of them being hounds i`m sure the way they fought, and a lot bigger than the ones I landed. The first was when I was putting the kettle on. I forgot to put the ratchet on and the bite snapped me up like it was cotton. The second was right on the surface when my trace snapped. Frayed line from fishing the muscle beds earlier on. What a cracking day though. Most of the hounds fell to squid and prawn while the huss fell to soft crab...Locked back in at 4.15....great tan too.

Re: aberthaw 30th May

The huss seems a handful, a good fish as were the hounds.
