Foreshore 7th march (was that friday night)

Had a pass so decided to get out tonight.

looking out the window in work i couldn't decide if there was and southerly, when i got to the wall on the foreshore after what felt like the patang death march arrived to find the wind directly west and suprising sheltered on the wall.

first cast pouting, second pouting....good start i thought.

then had a lovely slack liner so reeled in and bang.. nice little bend and thought small codling...big surprise a flounder about a 1 1/2lb...well happy the first i've had off here.

settled down again and through out the night had loads of good bites resulting in 1lb codling great fun and all returned.
just as the tide was turning and getting a bit of movement i thought i saw a tap which as i was in the middle of making a rolly i ignored it...carried on rolling and then smoking and just as i was finishing my rod lurched right over and sprang back..stuck and better resistance and after a couple of dodgy moments at the bottom of the wall landed this it had hammered a whiting which must have been the previous bite...don't normally take this sort but as i won't be able to get the other photos off my phone till tuesday..weighed 4lb 8oz by the time i got him home

carried on for another hour and had another 2 codling about the lb mark finished with 2 pout, a flounder and 8 coddling including the keeper and left a happy man.

john

Fish at last! Cracking night and there's nowt wrong with taking the odd one for the pot. Judging by that gut I would be intrerested to know if you had a look what was in there.

Re: Foreshore 7th march (was that friday night)

well done it was a good session with some good fish. the flatties on the wall normally come right on the edge where shingle meets mud.generally they are fish that are in size but it's nice to see a plump codling nice eating size too.
