| nearly time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nearly time to start thinking of the bass again...what march?? nearly bought a zziplex powertex yesterday ready for the new season and got me thinking. most of my bassing was in the rocks between port eynon and halfway to the worm last year which turned up some good fish but on an easterly can be a right b*tch to fish. thinking of instead of looking out the window and thinking sod it in those conditions whether the area from burry holmes to broughton is as productive, or even the holmes itself. i know its good for the smaller hounds (compared to up here) but has anybody had much success after the bass and is it a night venue or can it produce daytime too john __________________ __________________ Catch and Release fishing is a lot like a game of golf. | Re: nearly time Plugging for Bass is very over looked at this time of year. If you are willing to put the effort in you could well be rewarded with a big Bass. Most of the Bass that are caught on the plugs this time of year are the big Solitary ones. Good Luck!! |

| Re: nearly time cheers guys looking at the gower which does hold bass all winter but not really in big numbers worth going after. The rock gulleys or areas you catch them in summer are barren in winter, they get a battering off the swells the temperature drops super cool the rocks and drives the crab and prawn away so there isn't the food. They tend to rush back with a vengence coinciding with the crab molt. anyone tried a zziplex powertex 2-4oz?? john __________________ Catch and Release fishing is a lot like a game of golf. | Re: nearly time Hey John, Any chance I could come along with you at some point and have a crack at fishing for the bass off the rocks. Only live in Chepstow and threaten to do it every year but never do - thought you might fancy some company mate. Tommy __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |

when the crabs start to molt early april they come in and really get their heads down. Had a load last year early in the season. will be a good laugh. john __________________ Catch and Release fishing is a lot like a game of golf.
