| Porthcawl breakwater 27/10/07 Hi all, Me and kirk fished porthcawl breakwater lastnite, high water was around 20.00 and the tide was a 12.9. When we arrived, there were people fishing along the wall by the beach and a few small whiting were being caught. We decided to go out on to the breakwater, we had a spot close to the end and set up base. We used rag, squid, and mackerel on pulley rigs with 3/0 hooks, we didn't bother with smaller hooks for the whiting we tried for something a bit bigger. As the night went on it started to drizzle and the wind picked up but we struggled on, i had the first bite i knew what it was straight away DOGGY!!. Then kirk had his first DOGGY!! We tried closer in, further out and still dogfish. We called it a night about 9.30 the wind was howling and the drizzle was get heavier, that's all we had was 10 dogfish between us. It was an enjoyable night though it could of been worse we could of blanked. HUW __________________ __________________________ Happiness is a rod in your hand.     |

 . I was talking to a bloke who fished there the night before and he did say that a bloke fishing next to him had a thorny and a small conger in between the whiting and doggies.
