Friars Point Barry 13th Oct evening tide

Fished the high tide at Friars point last night, 2.5 up 1.5 down. Fished rag tipped of with mackerel or squid. Had a few bites early on, 2 rattles and then nothing, with stripped hooks.Had a small doggie about an hour before high water and then nothing until an hour afterwards when I had some more rattles but failed to connect. I did wind in a fish, possibly a whiting but it came off at the bottom of the rocks as I was about to lift it out ****!
I only heard of one other doggie and a small whiting being caught off the point, maybe its a bit early yet for the main whiting drive and the codling (if they show).
