| Re: fishing near the second severn crossing That's Divers Rock at Sudbrook. I haven't fished there myself but intend to soon and I know that Tommy fishes there regularly through the winter and usually picks up a couple of codling. The only problem there is that there is really only enough space for 4 or 5 anglers, especially on the highest tides when most of the ledges end up under water (and I have seen even the highest ledges getting washed by the waves when its a bit rough) so you need to either fish "off peak" hours i.e week days in working hours or in the middle of the night or arrive very early. To get there leave the motorway at junction 23 (Magor), head to Magor then follow the road to Caldicot. Just after Caldicot you head for Sudbrook, go over a railway bridge with traffic lights and head past the old paper mill. You can park by the football ground behind one of the rows of terraces and then its a short walk across the pitch to the rocks. |

| Re: fishing near the second severn crossing Chaps, Fishing Sudbrook can be great but in all honesty it gets rammed - if thers a sociable tide at say 8. 00pm you need to be set up by 4. 00pm even though you cant fish until 6ish !! Its ridiculous but true - like Mark says try a less sociable tide at midnight or early one morning - and be careful - some guy fell in last year and managed to live because the inshore came out before he dissappeared - as usual safety must come first above some codling !!!! __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |
