Re: mullet fishing?? Loads in the marina where Mikes boat is moored but no fishing and security gates. Access is a problem to a lot of the places mentioned. Newport docks you have to be "invited" by someone due to security. I think Barry docks is supposed to be good and Swansea marina. The Gower beaches are also good for golden greys apparently. Give the river Neath a go and treat it like fishing for chib or barbel and be as stealthy as possible, as you say its a challenge but the reward should be worth it.

Re: mullet fishing?? Apparently a (witnessed) 11lb fish was caught in Swansea marina recently and someone on another forum I use had a 6lb fish at the weekend on bread with size 10 hook and 4lb line together with several smaller fish so could be worth you taking a trip there.

Re: mullet fishing?? Clive vedmore loves this species and did an article a year ago or so.he fished laverknock point but went out at low water where he ground baited the area, then as the tide came in he fished with bread to a great effect catching quiet a few fish. Clive can be contacted at gary evans tackle shop in newport. Charlie.... __________________ MIB Boat Angling Club

think i saw that article. by all accounts he fishes with coarse gear, a waggler and bread but he takes about 12 old loaves of bread all mashed up and at low water will throw it all over the ground he wants to fish on the incomming tide to draw them in and not spook them by continual groundbaiting.....always meant to try it. john __________________ Catch and Release fishing is a lot like a game of golf.
