Aberthaw Wed

Hurray, managed to get there at last. But what a crap days fishing.

Took a day off as it was flat calm and my little 2 stroke got me down there by 20 to 10 with a little help from the ebbing tide. Being unsure of where to fish, I anchored not far from the charter boat nick-y- lou who had followed behind me in my wake. Fished there for a while for 3 doggies then the charter left and so did I. She went further down towards the point but I just went further out. I stayed for a few hours there for just a couple more dogs and a strap conger. The tide turned and so did I back to Sully Island. Fished about a mile out by the Kobe. Doggies again. Back to the lock at 5.15. Kobe was in there and had caught about 30 rays and 80 dogs. All thornies about 6lb mind you and 1 spotted. Very enjoyable but I must be doing something wrong. Could be the bait or could be the contours i`m looking for. I dont know but i`ve obviously got a lot to learn.

Re: Aberthaw Wed

Hi andy I,ve had to turn down a couple of trips with kk due to club commitments but we went out on the benjoma too & kobe on the 29th July.
this was booked as a bass trip total bass for benjoma 39 kobe 11 but only 6 did fish kobe. on slack i picked up a fine 12lb 8oz starry smut and then got chopped by a large conger oh and i had one of the two dogs caught.
biggest bass went to the kobe 5lb8oz
whilst it wasn't a brilliant trip but it was a good trip

charlie....
