| Sat 28th off penarth Took advantage of a rare lul in the weather and took the 07.00 lock. My intention was to go off round the point towards Sully. Just as well I didnt as it wasnt long before the waves had white tops to them. So I stayed in my comfort zone. I started by the mid Cardiff, then the North, back to another mark by the Mid, then the forshore and finished off by the Rannie. Fishing was poor to say the least. Maybe too much fresh water in the upper reaches of the channel. Best fish was a thornback that weighed in at 8lb. Caught a few doggies and a strap conger throughout the day. I only had squid and mackerel and a couple of frozen sandeels for bait though. Peeler crab seems very hard to come by this SUMMER!! Anyone finding any Bass locally?? Heard KK and someone else on the radio and they didnt seem to be doing much better by the time I went in at 3.15. Nice to get out though. Thats the first time in 6 weeks i`ve managed to defeat the weather. __________________ Andy. ------------------- Treat each day as your last, one day you`ll be right. |

| Re: Sat 28th off penarth All that fresh water must have upset the fishing but as you said just getting out after 6 weeks is good __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |
