| Friday off the rannie 10.30 lock and the ebbing tide down to the rannie. It turned out to be `one of those days you just want to forget`. It was quite a big tide and I should have known better. But I dropped anchor off the rannie and 10 mins later found myself off lavernock point with my anchor trailing behind me almost on the surface. Tried to motor back using half power and was getting nowhere so opened the throttle and powered my way back against the tide and wind and got pretty wet in the process. Made my way over to the Rumney estuary and dropped anchor there. Still couldnt hold bottom and my traces were just getting snagged as I drifted. So made may back to the Rannie but well inshore this time. Hurray !!. Holding bottom. Uptider baited with crab and rag and squid (could almost eat it myself). Cast........crack off. That was how the day went really. Caught One codling about 0.75lb and a whiting even smaller. Its true what they say " when the winds in the east.........blah blah.....shite. __________________ Andy. ------------------- Treat each day as your last, one day you`ll be right. |
