What kind of fish did I catch?

Hello,
I caught a fish in the canal behind my home in Ft. Myers, Florida and have no clue what kind it is. Please take a look by clicking the link below and email me if you know what kind it is.

Picture of my fish

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the replies.
I just need to find out how to cook it now.

Do they have to be a certain size to keep them? The one I caught yesturday was 21 inches.

Re: What kind of fish did I catch?

21 Inches should be plenty big enough. Over here they aren't generally considered good eating and I've seen them described as having a slightly muddy taste but our resident chef Wellyfish reckons they are under-rated and make a good substitute for bass. Plenty of chefs on this forum so I'm sure they'll be able to offer you a recipe.

Re: What kind of fish did I catch?

Hi barricademan!
What you have there is Grey Thin-lipped mullet.
It is delicious mate!
I cook them like that:
Get a medium deep tray big enough to put the fish hole.
Gut and descale the fish, get all of the black abdominal membrane out.
In the trey put water one finger deep - 1.5cm. Put one spoon of salt. Stir it to dissolve.
Put the fish in. Place a thin, half lemon slice inside the fish.
Some ground black pepper on the top and bake it in the oven for 1 hour at 220 C.
15 minuets before the hour is out poor 1/3 can of beer on top of the fish ( I sed beer, not Budwiser :-))))

Bon apetit!
