im not familiar with your area but have fished on the trent once in nottingham,on some stone steps,i think it was called the embankment, very good fishing

I suggest in Victoria embankment. It is a good place to hang out and fish out there. I wish I could go back there.

not many fly venues in notts mate apart from colwick and thats shut but if you
are willing to travel a few miles into derbishire there are some good venues still
open barlow lakes for one &press manor still showing plenty of fish
