Thumbs up Glen Rothes Fishery

Went out on my first ever fly fishing day today. Arrived at 9am and decided that a 5 hour/2 fish ticket would suit me.

Was nice clear skies with a slight breeze heading over the water. Lots of flies around giving a good idea what the fish were going for.

To cut it short i fished for 4 hrs 30 mins and caught my two allowed fish.

First one weighed 1.4 lbs and the other weighed 2.9lbs

All in all i am well happy and had a fantastic first day fly fishing. Time for a

Too right i am. Cannot wait to get a full year at the wild trout next year. Still it gives me time to learn the techniques required before it starts eh?

Have to say that i am impressed with the set up at Glen Rothes. Good facilities and friendly people. Many a visit on the cards coming up me thinks (providing wife allows it).

hi al nice catch mate , nice wee forum here followed u in , there a cracking wee river that runs from yates oo muckhart 2 stirling though dollar and tillocutry , cracking wild brownies in there me and my boy fished with gd sussez on fly and worm , 14 pound 4 whole season , well worth a try mate our fav bit is at camping site in dollar
