| Hazelcopse Fishery,Sussex 1/11/11 Wet early, soon cleared to sun and really quite warm. Arrived at 8.15 and went straight over to second pool, far corner.Stuck out a team of buzzers and was soon netting my first rainbow of 3lb,which i kept.Another two followed fairly quickly, both around the 3.5lb mark.Moved along the adjoining bank this time with a home tied 'jack frost' type lure-red and white, fished slow along the margins and was getting some thumping whacks but no hook ups.Went back to corner, same fly and had one on the drop. Tried first pool with no interest so after a spot of lunch resumed in the far pool corner swim again. Ended with nine rainbows, two around 3.5lb and one at 3lb,others all around 2.5lb or so to either buzzers or the jack frost. Whilst a small fishery and not the 'prettiest' it certainly delivers the goods and i can recommend a trip there(mid week-not weekends)if you want ya string pulled. No silly rules and at £20 keep one and then c/r its good value.I usually do two or three trips in a year. ![]() |

Nooooooooooo,he stopped ages ago.I understand that the supplier was the guy who has set up the Stillwater Salmon Fishery in Rutland,so guess that's why, although Wilf told me a long tome ago that it was due to cost.He does still stock some big fish however, both browns and rainbows, but again alas no more tigers. Shame its so small as it does get busy at times and if no one is moving around it restricts swims too much. Not everyone's cup of tea and i certainly couldn't fish it on a regular basis BUT i have to say he stocks it very well and he's honest. If its NOT fishing well he will tell you.Always worth the odd visit midweek.I was quite happy with a 3lber killed and returning a couple at around 3.5lb,thats a higer average than the likes of Albury ![]() |

| Re: Hazelcopse Fishery,Sussex 1/11/11 Hi D/S. Not exactly a hard water to wangle a few fish from .Dare say some of your Scottish waters would make it look like a cess pit by comparison. However for what it is,its ok for the occasional string pulling |
