| New reel for 5`0" dry fly rod. Been searching for a reel to replace the one I got with the rod my wife and son bought me. I felt the reel was just a little heavy for the rod, and eventually decided on this little beauty. ![]() It`s a Grey`s streamlite 2/3wt, loaded with 50yds of backing and an Orvis WF-2 F line. Spare spool has 50yds of backing and a Hardy Premium WF-2-DT F, just the ticket for the upper river stretches we plan to fish next season. The only down side is, I have to wait 5 months to try it out , although the rod has already been christened ![]() ![]() I almost chose a Hardy model, but in the end I couldn`t justify paying an extra £150+, for what was basically the same reel, probably made in the same Middle Eastern factory. The reel and spare spool I got online for £120, the lines I got from the USA, and even with postage were a good bit cheaper than in the UK. |
