| Bransford Fishery Had a few hours(3) at Bransford up near Worcester whilst we were away for a few days. Arrived to find i had the place to myself and fish topping in both lakes. Mild with sunny periods and a nice breeze.Started on the first pool with damsel on floating line and it wasn't too long before i had some interest.A rainbow soon found its way to the net.A switch to buzzers again had interest almost straight away and another fish of around 2.5lb hit the net.Ron the owner came down for his money and i decided on a four fish ticket, otherwise that would have been it-all over in around half an hour .Had a cuppa and then showed my wife around his bird pens-he breeds jungle cock and various chickens. After that break i went over to the far pool and stuck out the buzzers, wham and another rainbow was cartwheeling around before it hit the net.Mmmmmmmmm this is really all too easy.Ok a switch to fast sink line and black cat might just produce a brownie!.A few casts here and there soon had interest in the form of plucks to a very slowly retrieved cat and it wasn't too long before another rainbow came to the net.Had another cuppa and resumed on the c/r pool for another three quarters of an hour or so.Had two fish and released two, lost a few and had loads of hits. Nothing of any size,2.5lb or so,don't know the weights as Ron the owner took em to his mate(we had no refrigeration to keep them) before i could weigh them. All in all a tad easy but a very enjoyable few hours fishing with plenty of action. For anyone up that way a visit there will almost certainly get your string pulled. What is more the pub(three nuns)just down the road keeps good beer and the grub is top notch at a very very reasonable price and the landlord and landlady are great. |
