| A most enjoyable morning. Decided on a short session on the river, so had everything packed and ready to go at 6am. Took my 7`0" Truefly 3/4wt, Lamson 3/4 reel, loaded with a 2wt DT and a spool of 3lb fluouro. leader. I began fishing upstream with a dry, choice between a #16 Bivisible, Light Olive #14 or an Alder #14, in the end plumped for the Bi vis. Turned out a good choice, with lots of small trout and smolts taking the fly, along with a couple of 1/4lbers in between. ![]() ![]() ![]() There are some weird looking trees along the banks, this one was covered in ivy. Then I came across this, looks like an old mill stone, lots of Victorian debris to be found on the river bed. ![]() Fished upstream for about a mile, then stopped for 1/2 an hour and changed over to a couple of wets ( Green Pennel and an S/t Spider ), into fish immediately, even had a few double hook ups. It`s amazing the change a couple of weeks make to the banks and what were bare trees just 4 weeks ago. ![]() I managed to pick off a couple of decent ones heading back down (also frighten the life out of 4 deer, they sped across the golf course at an alarming rate) .![]() ![]() Tried to get a few underwater shots (a bit disappointed with them), but the water was too cold to keep your hands in it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So this was my morning, hope your`s was as goodlol Peter ![]() ![]() |

| Re: A most enjoyable morning. LOL You`d have to ask Admin about that. Yeah it was a good fun morning, especially on light tackle, our river`s plagued with them `til mid May.Peter ![]() |
