| "Float fished" buzzers Had an early morning session on my club lake yesterday (before it got to hot) and found that the trout were deep with no fish showing on top so fished deep buzzers but kept snagging the weed before I was getting the fish. Had a look in the bottom of my tackle bag and found some old "Bungs" that I bought a couple of years ago for use at Bewl ,tried one of these and it worked very well allowing me to drift the buzzers round in the wind without snagging the weed. But in the back of my mind is the thought that its float fishing not Fly fishing. |

I use them when i feel the need.More so as a way of fishing at the correct depth rather than as indication.Saves greasing up a leader. |

| Re: "Float fished" buzzers I wouldn`t about it, I`ve seen a few so-called purists using the method after blanking most of the day. |

personally i can't see any difference in a bung to a dry fly supporting a nymph underneath or from using a booby on the point in the washing line setup. I know some go bonkers over a bung or boobie's and egg flies can provoke the odd squeel of anguish as well ![]() ![]() |

| Re: "Float fished" buzzers I'm not a Purist unless the mayflies are hatching and I carry eggflies and blobs in the box for those "difficult" days which I seem to get more of as I get older. I was surprised how well the bung worked especially when the Sun was shining so perhaps its another weapon in the armoury. |

| Re: "Float fished" buzzers Tried the method again last night whilst waiting to see if there was going to be an evening rise (there wasn't) and had another 3 fish on it so I will have to get some more "bungs" as I have used my last one, I suppose I could always tie some big dries but they would have to be big to support my buzzers ![]() |

take a look at some of the floating carp beads that are available.Just stick a tooth pick in em,better than pimps-if that is what you are using. Oh and tut tut on using the method twice in a row LOL |

| Re: "Float fished" buzzers Got to the lake this afternoon and it was bright sunshine and a steady breeze watched the water for 20mins and nothing was rising so out came the Bung and Buzzers (again ) Fish were deep to start with but about 6.00 it started to cloud over so adjusted the bung so that it was only about 18in above the dropper and had a fish straight away which took as soon as the cast landed (thought my bung had sunk) ended up with 6 fish, 4 on the dropper and 2 on the point so I must of beendoing something right. I am using the bungs that are made of a bunch of Wool/Antron held in 2 rubber O-rings does anyone know how to make this type? |
