| hour on river finally managed to get on the Ebbw this afternoon for an hour, arrived about 2pm water was low and clear. Started with a olive klink with a olive tungston beaded nymph fished about 2 ft below new zealand style.Had afew casts but nothing happening then the sun came out and afew fish started to rise. cast again and was watching the klink which suddenly went under lifted my rod and connected with my first river brown of the season which was quickly released it took the nymph. Caught 2 more1 to the dry and another to the nymph. After fishing for about hour the sun went in fingers got cold so packed up and came home.-    Hope to get out for a bit longer tomorrow .     |

| Re: hour on river finally Couple of crackers Jeff, look in great condition too  well done bud. I was out Monday afternoon for a few hours, 2 salmon parr and 3 minature brownies, but  it was too cold to concentrate . Week today the start of our trout season, so the long wait is nearly over. |

| Re: hour on river finally There's something very special about fishing river with the fly. I enjoy angling in many forms, favourite is taking a good bag of roach to the stick float (so that's skuppered these days). | Re: hour on river finally Got out for a couple of hours today with Ben, Olives were hatching so headed for a few pools were they normally rise. Managed 7 between us mostly to the dry fly  ben into 1 on the dry fly he caught 2 in this pool and missed afew   A couple from today nice and warm out for the first time this year |

| Re: hour on river finally Nice result Jeff, only managed out once so far, starts in earnest on Tuesday, with the Magners up for grabs. . Fitted mates new kitchen for him, and his neighbour asked me to do hers (so much for early retirement), all but finished, just a few minor things to do and finished, then it`s fishing for me.
