| Hi Guys,.I am looking at buying a floating line but can't decide between these three: Airflo Sixth Sence. Airflo Ridge Supple. Greys Platinum. At present i am fishing stocked fisheries, but next year i will fish larger open waters.I think i have done my homework reading up on these lines, but my inexperience has left me very undecisive,so i need to go with your experience or preferred choice of line. Thanks 3rodpete. |

| Re: Which Floating Line do i choose? Hi Pete, they are all decent lines, but the Greys is probably the best of your selection. If you`re fishing stillwaters, you might want to consider a slow intermediate line too, for when the fish are lying deep, otherwise you would have to fish with a longer leader to reach them. Just a thought, best of luck inyour choice. Nice to have you on board Pete.Peter ![]() ![]() |

| Re: Which Floating Line do i choose? Hi Pete, what I meant was when I fish stillwaters, I start with a floating line and a 12ft leader, but I also have a spare spool loaded with a slow intermediate, just in case the fish are deeper. If the water you fish is less than your leader length, then a floating line is all you need. You could also use a fluorocarbon leader, which will cut through the water quicker than mono, down to where the fish are, a bit more expensive than mono, but IMO worth the extra. Peter ![]() ![]() |

I would'nt touch Airflow lines. I've had nothing but problems with em. Orvis, Cortland or Scientific Anglers lines are far better. Not sure about Greys lines, but as Greys are part of the Hardy's group of companys now, I'd imagine they will be OK. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: Which Floating Line do i choose? Have to agree, Cortland and SA lines are great value for the money. I`ve been using the Hardy Premium lines since I scaled down last season and find them excellent. I have stripped all my fly lines off the reels, slicked and cleaned and have them stored in large coils in a round biscuit tin, for next season. Fishing on a river has it`s benefits, when it comes to line memory. I let all the fly line out into the current for 10 minutes or so, which takes any remaining kinks and memory out of the line. then rewind through a clean cloth with line slick on. It`s worth the effort Peter ![]() ![]() |

Lines are damn expensive items.Shakespeare lines have a good name, the 'Worcestershire' is a very good line with virtually no memory. If you use other forums, take a look at Pitsford Pirates fly lines, excellent or here-www.impactflies.com I have three of Chris's lines and they are excellent and a bargain price as well at £17.99.Can either use the welded loop or cut it off and attach your own leader loop. |
