A couple of hours this evening

Now the rivers have dropped a bit ,
i took my nephew out this evening he,s just started back fly fishing.
We fished at Abercarn were the river is a lot narrower and a lot of
over hanging trees,

He managed to catch 2 but lost quite a few i was really impressed
with is casting action a lot better than mine.



T he fish were coming 50/50 to the dries and nymphs , will have to start
going earlier as its getting dark early now.

Hi Jeff, looks like you had another cracking session, New Zealand style really suits that kind of water, you tend to catch bigger fish too. That`s a lovely stretch of river, photos are excellent, makes you wish you were there. Well done with the fish, the markings are beautiful. One to the Para and one to the gold head I see. We went after the silver tourists tonight, a 7 mile trek there and back to the car, but I`ll let the photos tell the story. Well done again though bud.

Thans Pete,
The Newzealand style fishing ive only really fished this year.
We have a quite a few welsh internationals in our club and been out with one
earlier on the river Ebbw ,is fishing is something else and the tips he gave me were great.
Most of the home nations have practised on the Ebbw over the last few years and they cant get
over the quality of fishing .
The river was once known as the black river when the pits were open,but now we have salmon, seatrout,
and otters on this little urban river.

Same up here Jeff, they used to say if you fell in the Kelvin, it wasn`t worth climbing out, as you`d probably die anyway. A lot of the urban stretches are strewn with bricks, stones and such rubble from Victorian factory buildings that sat along the banks. Good cover now for the trout.
