| Went down the river for a few hours this morning. It started off well enough, second cast a nice wee 1/4lb brownie. I was trying out a new fly I`d tied last night, it seemed to be doing most of the catching. Best fish of the day a 3/4lber on a ginked up Pearly Pennel, but when I squatted down to release it, I felt something tear at my heel. Next thing I knew, I felt a cold creeping sensation about my right foot, yep,-- the neoprene sock had burst at the seam, filling the inside of the sock with water. I decided to fish on, but after about half an hour, the water was just below the knee. Shaping up to be a decent session too. Have to be the old Snowbees tomorrow.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At least the new fly did well, thinking of calling it Cold Watery Done(Waders that is), speaking of flies, I quite fany a pair of those waist waders with the zip front, pricey though. | Hi Nick, that stretch is about 3.1/2 miles long, treelined either side I love wading down it at 5-6am, when there`s sometimes a mist right over the water, catching fish is a bonus. Peter ![]() Hi Justin, made up a forum album of Maltese fishing, have a look when you`ve got time. Peter ![]() Hi Jeff, I got busy on ebay, and found what I was after, at a fraction of the price. AIRFLO Waist Waders, Waterproof zip front and pockets, stocking foot £59.99. Bought a pair, should be here tomorrow or Saturday all being well. Almost the exact same pair, apart for the colour, by a top range tackle house £265.00. When are you fishing again, bass or trout? Peter ![]() |
