| Light tackle. Went out for a few hours last night, up the golf course. Took my Truefly 7`0"3/4wt rod and Konic reel loaded with a 2wtDT line. Started off upstream with a #14 Bivisible dry on a 2lb leader, and almost at once began picking off small brownies. Still nothing bigger than 1/4lb, although there were bigger fish rising. It got to the point, that every cast seemed to be snatched by 4-6 inches, of suicidal brown trout, great fun on light tackle. About a mile upstream, waded across the river and started back down with a team of 2 wets Black and Red spider on the dropper and a Squirrel Tail g/h on the point, on a made up 5-3-2LB tapered leader. Again hammered by small trout, mostly on the gold head, a lot of the time taken as the flies hit the surface. Criss crossed all the way back to the gates, then home to watch Brazil game (should have stayed down the river for the first half )![]() ![]() ![]() Peter ![]() |
