Friday fishing We wondered if it would be worth casting a line at all, the river is down to the bare bones. In the end, we decided to give it a go, so I loaned my mate an 8`0"4wt rod and reel, and I used a 7`0" 3wt rod and 3/4 Lamson Konic reel. Rules being only fish over 6" would count, which was just as well, as we`d have ended up with a cricket score. Some runs had only 8-9 inches of water, rather than the usual 2ft or so. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We really need rain to help the fishing Peter

| Re: Friday fishing Nice report as ever Peter, and once again lovely photos. I managed to take the better camera out the other night and try to get a few nice shots, although nothing really special stood out but i did get a few nice sunset pics. | Re: Friday fishing Hi Justin, we were out `til about 10.30 last night, as you can see in the last two photos, the light was fading fast. That`s my mate in the first two, cleaning weed from the flies, we spent half the time doing that. The fish one is disappointing, it looked great in the water, but decided to jump at the very second I took the shot. I went exploring with the wife today,to parts of the river I hadn`t fished before and found some great stretches, but they could do with some rain to bring the levels up. Peter ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A couple of days rain and these stretches will be brilliant. Remember to post some of your photos Justin. |

Re: Friday fishing Nice report, and great pics once again Peter. Which building is that with the spire - looks like a church or cathedral, that you can see just poking out over the top of the trees? Barry

Re: Friday fishing Hi Baz, that`s the church at Glasgow University. We followed the path along the river from the Art Galleries, to Great Western Road, across the Ha`penny Bridge. Some really nice trout water along the way. I didn`t make it to the Glazart, as the water levels are very low up there just now, but we will visit soon. Peter ![]()

Re: Friday fishing Thanks for reply Peter. Didnt realise the river was so picturesque running through Glasgow - quite surprising really as it looks like you are out in the middle of nowhere from some of the pics..cool..

Re: Friday fishing Hi Pete, That water makes me feeling like packing the tent and popping up to Scotland for the week. WE Will have to start doing the rain dance before long to get our rivers going again. Jeff ![]()

Re: Friday fishing Hi Jeff, you can see in most of the photos, the very low water levels. On Friday we were fishing the deeper pools, but even they were lacking in any movement. Still it can`t last forever, do you know the steps for the rain dance. Peter![]() Hi Scottish, where abouts in Parkhead, I know the place well. Peter ![]()
