At last the season gets under way.

First outing for a while( I damaged the ulna nerve in my let arm "very painful"), as I finally got the nod from Physio. We fished a favourite stretch through the golf course down to the bridge pool (approx. 2 miles)trying to battle our way through parr and smolt, succeeding at some parts, giving up at others.Voracious little so and so`s, watched them jump 2-3 feet out of the river for flies. Still managed a few half decent browns on dries and wets,and I came through without much discomfort, but looking forward to next week`s session. Peter

Thanks for the comments BW and Ryan, the deer often cross the river only yards away from you, it`s as if they sense you are not a threat to them.

Hi Jeff, Best of luck for Saturday, I`ve only caught mackerel with a fly when sea fishing. The guy in photo #4 is the one who`ll be supplying my case of Magners come October, he refuses to accept the fact, I tied all his flies, but not all the ones I have in my box. Sneaky or what/. Let us know how you get on on Sat. Peter

Hi pingu, you should meet one in mid stream while wading, it`s quite an experience I can tell you Peter.
