That fishing in the top pic has some lovely markings. My local trout fishery does not open 'til April. Can't wait.
There is another venue somewhere near here. Banana Steve knows it, but the one close to home I can walk to, not so keen on walking the hill on the way back, esp weighed down with a few trout.

Yeah there is some real beauties in the club water, i was lucky enough to catch a perfect spec brownie 3 lb today on a black buzzer self tied, I would have got a pic but my camera was in my bag switched off, i wanted to get him back in as quick as poss so could not take one. The club water is about 45 mins walk over the moor then drop down into a valley. its a nice walk on a good day its full of wildlife and some great views as you are so high up. Its great to be back at it though and the water is fishing quite well, but i am still looking forward to getting on the river. the river irwell is a two min walk away and fishable all the way to bury and further but never got any further yet?

Forgot to mention this bit. I was reading in (Trout Fisherman) that there may not be a closed season on non migratory waters after this one? I think it makes sense, that is if brownies wont breed in still water, Will they? never thought about it till i read that article.

Well done again GAZJB,
YOUR club water sounds great, itsnot just fishing i injoy but the widlife u see,
the last 4 times ive been bass fishing seen a otter.

Cheers flyman. yeah it can be one of the great places to be when the weather is good and the fish are active, but it really is awful when bad weather is upon us.
