Re: Help With retreival

If you could post the names of the lures nymphs ect or even a discripton of them, if you are not yet familliar with them. Then we know what we are up against mate.

Re: Help With retreival

The best advice i could give you first is to find a book that explains the behavoir of trout. The more you know about your quarry the more chance you have of decieving it. All this takes time and patience but its one of the most important aspects of fishing for trout.
General as a rule. Cats are lures, they are suppose to move in a fashion of a small fish ie small short bursts with pauses every so often./ can be retreived in many fashions experiment and think FISHY.
Buzzer are pupae of a midge rising up from the bottom to the surface to hatch. If they don't hatch usually because of cold weather conditions, they simply slowly sink back down to the bottom. They may do this many time before they actually hatch. So i generally will fish a buzzer STATIC. This meaning allowing to sink, but retreive with a very slow figure of eight, if only to keep line tight. You could every now and then give it a tweek then let it sink again. Nymphs figure of eight with tweeks. Play with these ideas retreives have to be experimented with. They can change from day to day and different time of year. Learn the fish and imatate its food, looks and behavoir. A good lure/ Orange Zonker. Buzzers, at the moment Pink or black/ Nymph, Gold rib hares ear or montanna. They work where i go?
