Re: woodington fishery, wellow 5/4/08

il try to give it ago this weekend we got neap tides but looking at the times it looks like a early start with a 4 am hw, i can get quite a way up the river on my little boat. i know we do get a good run of sea trout but iv never got one my self, so it could be double trouble iv thay are both around. iv got some sparkely flys which may just do the job on a size 8 hook.
il let you know how i get on

cheers for the advise

i can see why people swear by orvis , its got a stiffer action compered to my other rod which is very soft right thought . my orvis is a 8# rod , but my other rod is a 6-7#.
if a good deal come up on e-bay again il go for a lighter outfit for the mackerel, maybe a 3-4# set up. but i doubt il get as good a deal as i did on this orvis , it was brand new still in its wraping. it only cost me £38 .

hopfully add quite a few fish to it this year with bass mackerel and gar fish top of my wise list. thay all go well on a spinning rod so got to be wicked on fly gear

cheers
