headlands fishery, wellow

me, fisherdan and pete (a m8 from work) head to headlands fishery for a bit of fluff chucking ,
was very nice day with a slight breeze.
i started by practicing my very bad casting and with a bit of help from the lake owner i eventualy got a resonable cast going and started to fish after couple of hours. big thank you to john the lake owner
dan and pete started fishing staight away and had 3-4 in the bag b4 i even started . and after a hour or so i had my first 1 in the bag around 3lb, not long after i had another one but much smaller so i returned it to grow bit bigger, the very next cast i had another one of 2 1/2lb.
during this time dan had had 7 trout around 2-3lb(god that boy is good at fluff chucking) and pete had 4 of the same sort of size, so thay went for a cuppa and went to the pike lake, i carried on for 1 more trout which after i changed my fly to a silver thing with black head and red tail(dont know the names yet) i got on the first cast.
i then head for a cuppa and then on to the pike lake, pete and dan had no luck so i head over to the oppisit end of the lake by some reeds and trees and started to chuck a big fly around and had a few knocks but no takes, as i looked over the other side of the lake i saw dans rod hoop over then spring back right under his feet, he said it was a pike of around 6lb ish and was a little dissapointed, but he came closest , at 2 pm we packed up and head home as i had other comitments but i could have easly stayed a lot longer and the lakes are very pritty and every one was realy freindly.
so great day, great company and great fun.
i hope to go there again and try to conquer a pike soon, so watch out pike

hears a piccy of 1 rainbow trout i had

cheers john

its been a few years now since i've been down there and the lakes should have matured nicely to give pleasant surroundings to this peaceful spot.
