Sunday 27th Tope trip with Roker Ron

We met at the marina at 4-30am another cracking morning, We were soon under way to get our fresh macy bait and Ron's sushi lunch in no time we dropped the feathers and started to get a steady flow of Macy over the side. After an hour we had sufficient bait and headed to the tope grounds which did not take long at 20+ knots.
The anchor went down followed by our flapper baits we soon started to get screaming runs only to find that they were being dropped or bitten in half .Then Andy hit into another screamer and his rod doubled over the tide was now coming full bore and he had a hell of a fight on his hands after a full 15-20 mins he had this cracking tope on the deck to be his PB of 42 lbs



It was then my turn to get this puppy of 22lbs and yes John I do need another hair cut.



the fishing was hard going plenty of runs but very hard to hook until Andy hooked another good fish of 34 lbs









Ron then managed a fine fish of 40+ which was released at the side of the boat so im afraid no photo of that one
the tide was now dead so I managed a roker for tea whilst Ron got busy with filleting macys for his sushi rolls.
