Re: Summer 2005 Gower Smoothhound Sessions

yip you are all more than welcome! i can even find cheap bed and breakfast numbers for you if necessary closer to the time...
have since been emailed and that fresh mark is a low tide beach spot - very interesting because all the other marks are deep rock marks.... incidentally three cliffs is a good bass mark aswell and i have taken small-eyed ray and turbot there so should prove very interesting = perhaps a low tide night session would be best following a days high tide fishing at one of the other rock marks... i should seek a grant and setup angloing tours down gower with the multitude of good marks and varied fishing!!lol

Re: Summer 2005 Gower Smoothhound Sessions

JP,

Only just seen this thread, but count me in too, if that's OK - I'm always up for a bit of variety, and I think I've only ever caught two smoothounds - they're no that prolific in Kent.

Sounds great - talk to you about when we meet up (hopefully) in a couple of weeks!

Cheers,
JB.

Re: Summer 2005 Gower Smoothhound Sessions

i think there is revenue there for the taking old smoothhound. while i was working for mainwarings angling centre the famous bass angler from cornwall ed schliffke came up to do a video with us. we guided him to worms head where ed managed 18 bass on a plug biggest about 3lb. i only had 3 and everyone else blanked - dont know if this session has been edited and produced yet? but anyway - ed does guided tours from the shore in cornwall and is very succesfull and popular - he also organises shore fishing holidays in combination with his local bed and breakfast. and as a sideline he runs a tackle shop which must do well considering he personally guides his customers to good fishing! have always wanted to get into the charter industry but with so many good skippers going from swansea it would be hard to make an impression however the guided shore angling is completely untapped anywhere in wales to my knowledge. would need good liability insurance though!

Cool Re: Summer 2005 Gower Smoothhound Sessions

Yeh mate,

My insurance is sky high, but needs must! I have been out with Ed and to his "tackle emporium" in Padstow... nice guy and a bit of a nutter, but a good laugh. I have not seen his new video yet, maybe get a glimse of "Juan the Man" in it?

Cheers
Shaun
