| Buzzers From what i have seen and heard buzzers are a good method of fishing. I have always wanted to try them but i have no idea on how to use them , i have heard of a technique called the washing line but again im not sure. Any advice on how to fish buzzers and what the best buzzers to use are would be very helpful. Thanks guys ![]() |

| Re: Buzzers The washing line is fishing a buoyant fly on the point, booby or whatever with buzzers on droppers which means they are kept close to the surface. Buzzers can be fished singly in pairs or three's on droppers and fished back dead slow almost static. If there is a good blow on the water they can just be left to swing around with the wind with little or no retrieve. They can be fished under a bung if wished which means you can adjust the depth at which they fish again just left to drift or very slowly drawn back.I sometimes give them a fairly fast pull and just let them fall back again. Takes can be subtle or quite often savage rod wrenching takes. The bung is frowned upon by many, however i will allow you to see many of the subtle takes that you might otherwise miss.I use the method, mainly as its easy to adjust depth, rather than using it as a sighter.Infact quite often i loose sight of it totally in a good ripple if i am fishing at distance.Don't be afraid to use something 'meaty',i use 10's and 12's far more than the smaller sizes, although if using droppers its a good idea to have smaller sizes up the droppers and a heavier/bigger one on the point As with using lures or whatever its a question of finding the taking depth, find that and you are well on your way. Easy innit ![]() ![]() |

| Re: Buzzers ![]() ![]() Black ![]() I tend to use my own, fairly heavy tyings although the cdc type are good for surface work in the warmer weather. |

| Re: Buzzers Quote:
My casting skills are not great so i tend to stick to around 15 feet max, quite often around 11 feet. If you are just starting out, fish a 9/10 ft leader and space the dropper/s out around 3 feet between each.Try just one buzzer then perhaps try another on a dropper and add another as you gain confidence.Droppers are a good mixture for tangles,be warned ![]() |

| Re: Buzzers Thanks Chub. I know one day i got a bit over confident and ended up with what only can be called as a monster tangle |

| Re: Buzzers I'm a recent convert to "The Bung" but have had a bit of success with it. as my club lake is only 12ft deep I use a 15ft leader and place the bung about 4ft from the Flyline/leader join and if I get problems with the point fly catching weed I will move it further down. I like my buzzers to sink at different rates so use a Smooth varnish one on the point: ![]() and one with a fur thorax (which slow the sink rate down) on the dropper: ![]() If the fish move up in the water I will fish 2 fur thorax buzzers without the bung this is normally when it is overcast as soon as the sun comes out they tend to go deeper in the water so the bung goes back on again and I have to go deep to get any interest. |

| Re: Buzzers Nice tying Zonkers. ![]() I also like to use a home tied heavy varnished buzzer on the point-generally speaking. |
