repair to cork handles

I mentioned on another thread, about cork handles being pitted when the filler fell out, and found a good way to repair the damage.

Firstly get an old bottle cork and a sheet of rough sandpaper, lay the sandpaper flat and rub the cork across it. When you have enough, mix the cork filings with a clear waterproof glue, then with an old knife blade ,apply the mixture to the gaps in the handle. Once dry, smooth off with a fine grade sand paper, job done. You should now have what appears to be a new handle on your rod.

Peter
Excellent idea it has to better than the paper used as filler on the handles of cheaper rods
