Fly Tying Hackles?

I am at the moment tying some lures which have hackles, the hackles when tied are uneven in circumfrance. Should i trim them to even them up like they are when you buy them or leave them as they are? They look good to me uneven. Does anyone think that it will make a difference?

i would leave them as they are they will give a differant swimming motion that may appeal to the fish if it does not work you can allways trim them latter i always make some and some

if they are for sale though people like them nice and neat and even
