Margin Fishing

HELLO

During the summer I was at a small lake with tench. I was fishing in the margins with a lobworm on for bait. Would this method still work in the winter if not what tactics should I use.

Please Help

Re: Margin Fishing

Well it depends on the depth of the margins mate as when the temps to drop below 10c then the fish start to move into deeper water and shoal up more

As for lobworm I think they are the best in the winter months because they are easy to get but the main thing is that they are full of juices and a natural bait

Just a few thought that might be wrong but might be right

Re: Margin Fishing

Well if it is onl 4ft ( although there must be some deeper parts as no lake is flat ) Then I would go be the wind direct to target the fish

I.E if the wind has been blowing in one direct for a day or two then I would fish the bank that has had the wind on it as all the natural food ect has been pushed to that end

I know some people over look this but if you walk around a lake and ask the anglers what they have caught then I can almost garantee that the anglers who are fishing the bank thats had the wind on it over the last few days are doing better than the rest of the lake
