Favourite bait for tench?

What's your favourite bait for tench?

For me it would either be corn, maggots or worms. All great for tench, but I find if you use maggots and worms you'll often pick up smaller species such as roach, rudd etc..

A fishmeal boilie seems too work quite well for them too

For me its trout pellets

Nice and easy to use plus keeps the little ones away

i have only ever used lob worm float fished on the bottom near plants or something

just lately i have had some good fish on the artificial sweetcorn,but on the whole my favourite is the boilie,both 10mm and 14mm.tutti frutti seems to be the preferred flavour.

Big lob over vitalin they do like that but will always go for maggot or fishmeal

Sorry fellas but I'm a bit of a tradionalist. but on the groundbait front I have given way to progress in bait preperation.

My favourite and most consistent bait by miles has been Casters over hemp and Trout Pellets closely followed by Bloodworm pellets.

Second most consitent hook bait has been sweetcorn followed by worm.

From one of my local reservoirs I have had Tench to 7lbs 10ozs on caster

i had my 9lb 2oz tench lately on a richworth 14mm tutti frutti boilie. i have also had other tench at 6lb 9oz and 6lb exactly. AND many under 5lb recently

it has just got to be either sweetcorn, strawberry boilie, or tutti frutti boilie

Meatballs for me every time but its gotta be in gravy.
Second choice has got to be pellet paste all fished on a nice peacock quill.
