Although I have caught several large Tench on 'Active-8' pellets I have been fishing a local estate lake for Tench using Halibut pellets and so far had no Tench on them although I have had Carp to just over 21lb and a small 8lb Catfish on them, however this could change and it could be that I just didn't have any hungry Tench in my swims and I would have blanked on Tench regardless of what bait I had used. | Re: Favourite bait for tench? Depends when & where you fish. Summer in ponds, I use sweetcorn flavour pellets, or a paste mixture. On rivers in summer, I use mussel flavour pop ups on a legered float rig. Winter, I favour large worms, again on some form of leger rig. None of this is infallible or fool proof, but it provides me with a starter on the waters that I fish. |
