Re: Favourite way too fish for tench?

has to be quiver tip fishing with cage feeder filled with high-oil pellet paste, and hair-rigged sweetcorn. best method in my opinion at my local lake.

Perhaps you like too sit behind some alarms, waiting for a screaming reel, or watching a float slowly drift away? I hear some people lure fish for them, and you can pick up a few decent fish that way..

For me, it's a float fished slightly over depth with a couple of grains of corn, fished near some lily pads. Can't beat it

Also, a maggot feeder, or light bomb with 5 or 6 maggots on the hook with a quivertip

how can i get some bait for tench that will catch for me in clive vale i cant seem to get/catch fish from there i dont no wat i doin rong but i need help plz say the answer at chris_dunk@hotmail.co.uk thank you

Re: Favourite way too fish for tench?

Float fished maggot at night with a starlight insert. I love watching the luminous float go under and shoot off across the lake. Could be because it is the only way I seem to catch at the moment.

Re: Favourite way too fish for tench?

I caught a 4lb tench in the margins on sweet corn float fishing. That has to be the best as i was aiming for roach, my previous catches that day were all sub 1lb roach, quite a shock when I just tried to reel in quickly!

Re: Favourite way too fish for tench?

I get most of mine fishing the margins with Spam. One second the rod is there the next it is out of the rod rest. Fantastic. Only wish I could target them on the fly rod.

Method feeder with 10mm boilie on hair rig. Fantastic! Golden Tench are fantastic as well. They blush when caught and out of the water, due to stress!

Re: Favourite way too fish for tench?

Without a doubt it's a great big lob tail under a lift method, straight peacock quill a rod length out with a washing machine going on under it. The smell of the summer dawn with the wisps of mist rising from the water and a cup of hot tea poised to drop as the top stabs down a little, moves and then lies flat, strike and then hang on as she heads for the canadian poind weed.
Can't say I've got a real preference then.
Great question. See the answer everytime I close my eyes.

Re: Favourite way too fish for tench?

ok can add now to this thread as caught some.
my most productive has been float with either corn or luncheon meat, & I now know what you all mean when the float "slides" away, just want a big one now as the little ones have fought well for their size

(thanks for the earlier replies as to how to catch as now loving it)
