| Re: Tench Fishing I like to fish using rod and reel as I like that the best. I caught the Tench using 7lb line, size 12 barbless hook and cooked mussel for my bait, they love it. I use 7lb line because there are some really big fish in the lake, and you just don't know what you are going to catch, as carp like the mussel also. You can buy the mussel from any Supermarket, Asda, Tesco's, Morrison's ect. costs £1 a tray and the good thing is you can freeze them, they are just as good after being frozen. Just hook the mussel through its tounge and body and then cut it in half with a pair of scissors, use the other half as ground bait if you want. I have been using mussel for quite a while now, and caught some really big fish. Regards Tony |
