what do you class as distance ? over 100 yds
Normally i just use a running rig
but if you are concerned about the weed use a week link of line (3/4lb ish with 5/6 swan shots on
then use a pva nugget to keep the hook high in the weed , or inject the worms with air Personally think your better of fishing in the weed

Re: fishing help

if you don't want the worm to come off ,(tip of the day put the worm on the hook ,then put a small piece of elastic band on top of it over the barb)

the nugget will dissolve letting the worm drop slowly to the lake bed or settle on the weed

Re: fishing help

Personally, I do not like using Pva if I can avoid it, so try using a maggot or two to hold the worm on the hook. Try using a float leger. A bodied waggler with an arlesey bomb attached to a 9" anti tangle tube. Then by adjusting the length of the nylon leger link, you can fish above weed or at any depth you choose. If this does not make sense, let me know and I will post a diagram of the rig on this site.
