| Re: How To Avoid Silvers? Sounds all too technical. Try using the lost art of 'twitching'!!! You put a good sized lobworm on a size 8 or 6 hook, no weights at all, then cast out past the bubbles and let it sink down into the area the tench are feeding. Don't strike until the fish has digested the worm (3-4 seconds) and then starts his run, tighten up and QED! This can also be done with small worms, maggots and anything else. Unweighted fine lines is the key and if the take isn't fairly quick then you 'twitch the bait' slowly back into the feeding area. Have fun Plato |

| Re: How To Avoid Silvers? hey i found a way of getting rid of the silvers when fishing for small carp, which is just sprinkling pellets in constently the disterbunce caused by the little fishpoking around interests the bigger carp and tench which draws them in and a they arrive the little fish just leave the area. well it worked for me as my sweetcron was mullered by small bream. |

| Re: How To Avoid Silvers? Frank warrick does a fake cube of luncheon meat that takes on flavours really well. Its a bit spongier than the corn, and you can tear peices off to the size you need. __________________ I don't care who you are, your not walking on water while i'm fishing. | Re: How To Avoid Silvers? or you could feed the swim next to yours with hemp and castor so the small silvers move next door and leave your swim alone at least for a while tight lines __________________ give a man a fish and feed him for a day ,teach a man to fish and he will be gone for a week fishing is a discipline in the equality of men ,for all men are equal in the eyes of a fish |
