My first tench plus 4 more (also posted in reports)

[Camel Fish]

I went to Sinks pit in Ipswich with Christerio on Saturday, we got there at about 730, it was the first time I had ever been, £5 for 1 rod, £6 for 2. I set up a float rig to fish on the bottom, using a size 10 hair rig and 8mm Halibut pellets.

I fed my swim around a small patch of Lillies with some pellets and set the depth of my rig. Within about 20 minutes I had my first bite which led to a strong fight, I thought I'd lost it in the lillies as the fight stopped, i relaxed my rod and off it went again, landed a minute later..my first Tench. I had another 4 tench after this upto about 1430, then the swim went quiet so I searched around from side to side for a while with no more knocks.

I switched to fishing corn on a size 16 hook pulling in 3 nice Roach. After a couple of hours I switched back to my hair rig and pellets as the sun started to sink in hope to get some more tench return to the swim. I had no more tench but a Large roach of about 1.5lb.

All in all a great days fishing was had.
