Smile Hair rig or hook

I have recently taken up tench fishing and I was wondering which is best to hair rig my baits or just put them on my hook I have caught a couple with just the hook but I have heard that hair rigging catches more fish any info appreciated.

Re: Hair rig or hook

hair rigging a bait gives better presentation ,
use the cheapest sweetcorn you can find as this is harder than the more exspensive ones ,and so stays on better .

I still hook my worms , and par boiled spuds

Re: Hair rig or hook

I fished 8mm hairigged pellets on a lft float set up on saturday, had 5 good Tench this way. I fed the swim little and often around the float which acted as a good marker as to where the hook was laying.
