| Re: newbie tench fisher Large Tench sometimes come in fairly close at night feeding on bait etc thrown in by anglers at the end of their day. So make sure that there are not moving or flashing lights everywhere and if you need to have a torch on then keep it still, don't walk in front of it and if you do need a small flashlight for rebaiting your hook or for looking for tackle then keep it pointing away from the water or overhead branches; and avoid fishing on stoney or gravelly banks if you intend to move about your swim. Tench are not usually known for being avid night feeders so don't expect too many from around 10 o-clock till just before dawn but but on the rare occassion this general rule is thrown to the wind with them feeding well right through the night, but this is fairly rare. Best of luck and tight lines BoldBear __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

| Re: newbie tench fisher Tench love natural baits so try fishing a big juicy worm over a small bed of strawberry groundbait and chopped worm. Works a treat for me. Good Luck |
