Going for green

Iam a little bored with carp so iam going on a tench hunt. fishing a lake called whitefriars, i have already had tench to 8lb by accident. I have a plan, a bit of perseverance, some nice bait and 30 hours to catch me a pb. Hopefully i will have some good pictures to follow.

Re: Going for green

That's a very interesting topic. But this field is still new to me. It will be grateful if you give me some
more information about it. Thanks in advance.

Ground Bait for tench?
Try matching the colour of your ground bait to the colour of the bait that you are using i.e red bait = red ground bait. I have found that yellow seems to pull tench, so perhaps your best bet might be sweetcorn. I, also, tend to use flavouring to go with the colour eg., Red = worm juice/ bloodworm, yellow = sweetcorn flavouring, brown = maggot juice/ halibut.
I use a basic brown ground bait crumb, mixed 50/50 with van den eynde tench/ carp mixture. Then I colour the mix and flavour as necessary. There would appear to be a lot of truth in the old saying that you cannot feed enough groun bait, for tench. However, keep the balls/lumps of 'bait' small. The van den eynde tends to break up and produce a nice cloud that seems to attract tench. Hope this helps.
