does any one know to a good fishery for tench around the wolverhampton area

I think the Canal in Pendeford is meant to have some good tench ?
Try googling fishing tench Wolverhampton, it comes up with few places plus this post :)
There is also Donkey Pool in Dudley which is on Wrens Nest, you can see if of the Birmingham New Road just before Traffic lights by the King Arthur Pub some nice tench in that pool plus its free to fish, hopefully the planed rain will top it up as its little down for this time of year.

i used to fish the donkey pool about ten years back used to have some nice carp is there still a big ghosty in there

yeah its meant to be in there, seen 8 carp swimming round the banks this morning. so there is carp there. Just could do with some decent rain to fill the pool up.

If your willing to drive half an hour to Kidderminster I could mention a nice little spot but it's not a day ticket water, it's a 1 acre lake that only costs £20 per year to fish there, I usually fish it for carp as it contains a lot of decent fish to 25lbs which are easy to catch in it's shallow waters, I have had a couple of nice tench out though, especially in the summer, one corner gets full of lilly pads and there are supposed to be 8 pounders in there by the bucket load but I have only managed a 6...... places are limited though.

Try Himley Hall, some big tench there.

if that ghosty is still in there, i havent seen it in the 3 years i've been fishing there. i know there are two in there but both of them are under ten pounds.
i know there is a koi in there at around 10 because i saw it launch itself out. there are some good tench in there and ive had them to around 5 1/2 pound. in the summer if you can get them feeding right you can keep catching them all day. the crucians might even put in an apearance.

yes mate ive had some decent tench, but not big carp, although i got a dvd of matt hayes,getting very big carp out of Himley Hall.

Himley is on my target list for crucians and tench when it re-opens in June. Probably going to give it four or five goes this summer. Delaying barbel fishing this year.
