It had been 16 years since I last did any coarse fishing due the work I did, this is my second year, and I can't wait to get back at it again.
My brother also retired, and I have got him back into it as well, he also is looking forward to the new season, for some more great day's out.

Hi there Yorkie, I think that when you go back to the tackle shop, after 16 years, you are going to find that the tackle has come a long way, but the fish still bite the same.

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!!

Tench are a wonderful species to fish for and put up a great fight on light tackle. Hard to come by in some of the lakes up here in the north east but my club lake has some big old tincas lurking about although these are hard to catch and I've only managed a few small ones.
Every year I look forward to my annual trip with my dad to Paradise (not Ziggys place) near York. There are two lakes of private fishing here and one is over 300 years old and holds a wonderful head of tench and golden tench. All you need is a loaf of bread with light float tackle and you will tempt them out for a great summer days sport. Cant wait till June.

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!!

Look's a nice place for fishing, I like to fish at Langwith Lakes, Nr York.
It has four lake's, has a good variety of fish, and reasonable prices for fishing.

The owner's are very nice too, they have matches every week, but I am not interested in that side of fishing, I just like to just go and enjoy the day.

Regards
Tony

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!!

A really good tench book is "A Time for Tench" by Chris Turnbull. Also "First Cast" by Terry Lampard.

We still need more tench anglers! More fisheries aimed at us tencher!

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!!

I'm with twindadx2 on this one, I just love to catch fish! I've never fished for tench, though I did recently figure out that there are some in my state..... They're on my "to-do list" as a species I'd like to eventually catch, though!

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!!

gotta love tinca tinca....since my first proper session targeting them last summer as a complete novice im firmly switched from an all year piker to a spring/summer tencher, and winter piker...i only wish i started yrs ago...

this weekend im out for the first session so im hoping the weather holds..and im hoping last yrs small amount of tinca craft i gained will give me the edge and a bigger netfull...tho just being on the bank on a spring/summers morning is good enough.

this beauty to beat
