Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!! The following have given me the most Tench over the seasons: In order of preference: 1. Breadflake pinched from a fresh loaf 2. Large grains of soft sweetcorn. 3. Lively Redworms (Not lobworm or Brandlings) 4. Fresh Casters 5. Active-8 pellets dipped in Active-8 Bait dip (a favourite for the larger Tench on my local Estate lake when legered against the distant lilly pads ) __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!! I think breadflake is over looked by alot of 'new' anglers on many lakes which often means the tench go crazy when it's put infront of them...the old methods are still productive...;o))

The modern trend on our club waters seems to be using scaled down Carp rigs and Boilees for Tench and I love to see their faces when the more traditional thinking angler who has been fishing at first light or during the evening and using conventional baits nearly always seems to catch more Tincas. I suspect that the modern trend of fishing for Carp, Carp and more Carp has something to do with it. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!! I usually start to get a couple of Tench in March if it is mild. so I am getting my Tench gear ready and keeping my fingers crossed for the temperatures to rise a little in March. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)

Bread flake over a carpet of Van den Eynde expo groundbait usually works for me..... __________________ "The fish and I were both stunned and disbelieving to find ourselves connected by a line." William Humphrey "

Re: More Tench anglers please!!!!! I'm a rod and reel man myself, the lakes where I like to fish have a good variety of fish in them, Carp (Ghost, Common, Mirror, Hybrid), Tench, Roach, Bream, Barbel. I've had some great day's fishing there since I retired Two years ago. It had been 16 years since I last did any coarse fishing due the work I did, this is my second year, and I can't wait to get back at it again. My brother also retired, and I have got him back into it as well, he also is looking forward to the new season, for some more great day's out. Best Wishes Yorkie ![]()
