Re: tench rods?

For legering for Tench I use my Greys Prodigy Barbel rod but for Float fishing I use a 13ft (3.96mtr) Drennan MkIV Tench float rod, It is designed for using lines between 2.5lb and 8lb it is a perfect rod for Tench of any size I am likely to catch, plus I have found that it also makes a great rod for trotting a float for Barbel with my trusty centrepin on small to medium sized rivers.
The rod has a versatile fish playing performance from a gentle 8oz test curve through to a full 2.75lb power play action if you hook something extra big.
With its fine tip and progressive action it is equally at home catching smaller Tench on 2.5lb line or larger fish on 8lb line.

The Drennan MKIV Tench float rod RRP was £129
The Greys Prodigy Barbel rod RRP was £119
but if you look around you should get them a lot cheaper.

Re: tench rods?

HI all, its been a while so happy new year to everyone.
Just wanted to update on this thread, i have managed to find my perfect rods! They are the Mk1 shimano perfections in 2lb test guise. they are obviously second hand but they really are beautful. Im pretty sure they must have cost a few quid when they were new!
